Antonio Roman Campos
Adventurer, traveler, and “Gentleman of Mystery” Antonio Roman Campos enjoys descending into the world’s deepest jungles, crossing its vastest deserts, and summiting its highest peaks, just like the characters in his stories. He has visited more than sixty countries, sailed on every ocean, and loves to seek out the mysterious and unknown in everyday life.
With degrees in civil engineering, English writing, English literature, Catholic studies, and philosophy, Mr. Campos now works a day job as a civil engineering consultant, but by night he dons his cape and mask (not really) to become an author of mystery, horror, and adventure stories inspired by folklore, history, and first-hand experience. He has published more than one dozen short stories in various journals, and his work was honored with the Gurian Award for Fiction. An Eagle Scout from Colorado, Mr. Campos enjoys getting outdoors in his free time, hiking and horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains. He can often be caught at the world’s finest art museums and art auctions, as he is an avid connoisseur and collector of antiquities.
Miss Adventure is Mr. Campos’s debut novel and features more than two dozen original illustrations in this special edition. Mr. Campos began writing Miss Adventure on Thanksgiving Day, 2018, while he was a senior in high school, and revised the story over six years prior to publication, expanding the world of Penelope Agatha Parker and William Coleridge. The story was inspired by the Victorian adventure novels beloved by the author, and it reflects the styles and tones of the late nineteenth century.
Miss Adventure is the first novel in the four-book Miss Adventure Series, and will be joined by Miss Information in 2026, Miss Fortune in 2027, and Miss Direction in 2028, so there will be plenty more tales of derring-do and wonderful adventure with William Coleridge and Penelope Parker as they tour the far-flung corners of the unknown world!
While you are waiting for the release of the next globetrotting novel, be sure to check out Pygmalion’s Curse and Other Tales of Mystery, Horror and Suspense, the author’s wonderful, award-winning collection of eight short stories, available now in hardcover, paperback, and e-book editions.
